New teaching approaches and methodologies have emerged in the last decades with the main objective of preparing learners to attain fundamental and meaningful linguistic goals. Traditional approaches are now integrating updated trends and techniques that fulfill the practical needs of language learners. For instance, talented and knowledgeable English teachers are now diversifying their techniques with technological tools, such as artificial intelligence, content processors, and gamification. Moreover, they are applying meaningful and creative assessment techniques, and establishing authentic language scenarios. In the IX Seminar for English Teaching Professionals entitled “Spice it up! Innovative Activities for your Class”, you will have the opportunity to explore successful teaching practices shared by highly-experienced English teaching professionals.  

This ninth edition has been organized by the English Departments of the Teaching Major for First and Second Cycles of UNED. In this occasion, the seminar will take place in the auditorium at UNED’s main headquarters, located in Sabanilla on August 23^rd, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Bear in mind that, even though there is free registration for this seminar, there is limited capacity. Spaces will be allotted on a first come, first served basis. Once the maximum capacity has been reached, a waiting list will be devised.
